Vehicle Description One Owner (California) 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4WD Limited, Original, RARE Up Country Suspension, All Records I am selling my much-loved Jeep XJ, purchased new in Colorado Springs in 2000, then driven to Northern California (Bay Area), where it has spent its happy days.
I'm parting with it only because I'm moving toward a walkable lifestyle.
It used to be my daily, and the early miles were mostly highway miles (some back and forth from Denver to the Bay Area early on).
Now it's my weekly, or sometimes monthly.
She sits, then always starts right up.
I originally leased the vehicle, but loved it so much (this is my third Jeep), I decided to buy out the lease.
The clean title, original sales documents, all records, and some cool extras are waiting for you.
if you know XJs, you know the famous inline six engine, when cared for, will go forever.
Also, finding a clean one is difficult.
This one has never seen smoke, accidents, rust, kids, pets or off-roading.
It is even harder to find an original XJ that hasn't been tampered with, one with Limited trim, one owner, and Up Country suspension to top it off -- which is why this is a very special and rare vehicle.
This Jeep will work as your daily, occasional use, or kept as a collectible.
The only three things I modified (out of necessity) are:
1) I replaced driver's bottom seat cushion to OEM spec; 2) I replaced (and rewired) OEM front speakers and tweeters; 3) I replaced the windshield due to a traveling stone chip.
Other than parts and maintenance, the rest is as she came.
I also recently replaced the A/C compressor (ice cold), all four tires plus new matching spare, new Legend battery, and the required California smog, so she's ready to go.
Please see the original window sticker for specs, and two photos attached for complete repair history and associated mileage.
I'm happy to answer any questions.
The photos really tell the story, but ask away! I'm driving her just a few miles every week, but mileage won't top 169,600.
I'll have her ready for you with a full tank of gas (hey, that's no small thing nowadays).
Pickup in North Bay Area, California.
Wire transfer or cash only.
I'll release title when full transaction clears, including DMV online turnover.
Jeep sold as is, no warranties implied.
Why You Should Buy My XJ You won't find a cleaner last-model (2001) Limited with Up Country This XJ serves many functions:
collectible, daily, occasional use It will double in value before you can say OMG Up Country! Your kid/neighbor/brother/sister/dog/cat will think you're cool No distracting screen or driving assistance It has every available option except fog lights (engine block heater, baby, not that I needed it) Lately, it often sits in a safe spot for days/weeks, then starts right up It's boxy You Get These Extras Original window sticker and sales receipts All records from day one to present Original seat leather Replacement fabric for passenger seat cushion (when the time comes) Original speakers and plug-and-play upgrade cables Four original floor mats New NAPA Gold air filter Towing hitch with accessories Original wheel lug nuts Original owner's manual Two remote keyless keys (one with OEM key fob) One key fob replacement battery Cassette cable to connect your phone (old school) Cleaning supplies Louie the Lizard (your Jeep XJ mascot) What Isn't Pristine (my intent has been to preserve originality) Original headliner a bit saggy (adds to its charm) Driver's heated seat doesn't work, passenger's toasty Some California patina (sun fading) on paint, decals peeling She's been bumped, dings and scrapes on bumper and fenders Driver's overhead mirror has no light, passenger's lighted Driver's window makes a brief, loud sound when closed (but works fine, see video) Not garaged last five years, gauges no longer bright orange A terrible person broke off the original antennae in a parking lot years ago.
I stuck on a shorty replacement as I didn't use the radio much.
Otherwise, the AM/FM works great.
