In this position, you will perform the full range of administrative and technical duties in support of the facilities maintenance activities.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
Reviewing, verifying, authenticating and inputting data into the database to establish/modify preventive maintenance requirements and due dates. Maintaining accurate and concise historical maintenance information. Entering work order completion data prepared by others, review for clarity of expression and logical sequence of events. Producing a variety of recurring reports, charts and statistical data relating to workload, timeliness and quality control. Establishing and maintaining subject matter flies for supervisor's use in preparing recommendations for large engineering projects outside the scope of the most efficient organization (MEO). Planning and caring out administrative and clerical support functions/day-to-day assignments in accordance with established policies and practices of the office. Implementing and maintaining office control systems, such as those for the location, travel arrangements, access to and use of office files and for maintenance, transfer and disposition of records. Operating office automation equipment and word processing/database software. Acting as a point of contact for information gathering or disseminating in cases of emergencies. You qualify for the GS-06 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level performing duties such as:
Managing the administrative and communication procedures and processes to ensure the efficient operation of an office. Utilizing software to update databases and run reports; maintaining tracking systems. Performing office support services including mail, phone, filing office supplies, calendar and coordination of work. Responding to requests from the public; using effective interpersonal skills when working with others. Must possess a 40 words per minute typing speed. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
