Responsibilities:
Kforce has a client in search of a Mold Maker II in Petaluma, California (CA).
Summary:
With minimal supervision, efficiently manage all mold making techniques used in the Department.
This role requires the ability to train and instruct others in many processes.
You will create complex and high-quality molds and generate castings on a production timeline for product assembly.
The Mold Maker will de-mold, clean-up and tool component castings from molds to prepare for assembly.
Responsibilities include:
Thorough understanding of materials and compounds used in-house for generating molds and castings, as well as knowledge/experience with other materials (not used in-house) that might be beneficial to production Advanced understanding and experience with gravity-feed molds so they inject and vent properly Duplicate pre-existing 2-piece box and block molds and create parting blocks Perform most mold repairs and maintenance without supervision Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving and creating sophisticated molds to efficiently and reliably reproduce parts Efficiently manage the full range of mold making techniques with minimal supervision, including resin and glass, stone, RTV, box, and layup mold making Remove parts from molds after materials catalyze, and perform any specific cleaning, trimming, or tooling as required; Ability to accomplish this with the majority of parts produced within the department Organize and maintain workspace, tools and equipment used to perform duties Maintain logs and documentation used to track production runs Re-order supplies as necessary Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS:
High School degree or equivalent required At least four years of experience working in mold making and casting technologies, or at least two years of previous experience working as a TFX Mold Maker I Proficiency in basic woodworking skills Ability to perform jeweler's cut into silicone block molds Ability to cast materials into different types of production molds; Procedural knowledge of casting most of the commonly produced parts out of silicone and/or urethane Ability to use artist tools, and small hand and power tools, e.

brushes, sculpting tools, Dremels, pneumatic grinders and shapers, etc.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and accept feedback.
