Mental Health Counselor Medical & Healthcare - Petaluma, CA at Geebo

Mental Health Counselor

Overview
At Sonoma Compass, we view short-term residential treatment for youth as an intervention that must be integrated with a wide array of family and community-based services. As an alternative to inpatient hospitalization, treatment begins in a therapeutic home with consistent support focused on stabilization. Treatment supports successful step downs to a Wraparound Program in order for young people to achieve permanency in a nurturing family home.
The Mental Health Counselor provides crisis support and coaching to youth while providing a safe and nurturing environment. Counselors work in collaboration with the treatment team to assist the youth in stabilizing and perform case management duties as needed. The Mental Health Counselor adapts to the changing locations of the youth which may include time in the residential setting, at home, in the community as well as in the school setting.
